
Created by Rosemary, Barbara and Joseph, the surviving children of Joseph and Lucille Ferriero, the foundation was established to honor the memory of their parents. The foundation is a non-profit corporation which supports several charitable causes related to the lives of Joseph and Lucille Ferriero. The foundation will be supplying resources for the research and development of several illnesses that have touched the Ferriero Family. Specifically support will be directed to the research and development of a cure for, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Unfortunately, Lucille Ferriero contracted ALS and her children witnessed their mother suffer for over two and a half years with Lou Gehrig's disease until succumbing to it in 1996. The foundation is dedicated to provide funding for research and development of a cure for Breast Cancer. Click here to learn more about Breast Cancer. The foundation will also be offering College Scholarship assistance to children of Volunteer Firemen and actual Volunteere Firemen themselves. Joe Ferriero Sr.'s life was dedicated to the Fire Service as a volunteer fireman and chief of the Dumont Volunteer Fire Department he gave over 43 years of service to that community holding every office. Joseph Ferriero jr fondest memories of his dad involve the fire department. Joe Ferriero is a third generation volunteer fireman. He was the mascot to the fire department at age 3 , became a junior fireman at age 16, volunteer fireman at 18 and spent most of his time with his dad being involved in the Fire Department. Barbara, Joe and Lucille's, was a mascot to the lady's auxiliary and their mom and grandmother were members of the lady's auxiliary. Rosemary Donnelly the oldest daughter of Lucille and Joe was also a volunteer fireperson in Cato meridian fire department for over 25 years. |
